A Glimpse of Conventions Past
The style and form of the Democratic National Convention has changed greatly since the first Convention in 1832. And while this summer’s Convention will be filled with cutting-edge technology designed to bring the Convention experience to more people than ever before, there are many traditional aspects of the Democratic National Convention that will give 2008 shades of Conventions almost 200 years ago.
Now at DemConvention.com you can see the evolution of the Convention at our Historic Photos page. Take a look back through pictures of historic memorabilia, speeches and Convention halls from 1840 through 2004. Each of these images shows a glimpse of some of the most significant moments in American history. We hope you are looking forward to the next truly historic Democratic National Convention in Denver this August -- when we'll create our own set of archival photos to be enjoyed for years to come.

My comments are as follows:
Why has the democratic Party allowed anti-Americans like Limbaugh and Laura Ingram to define what it means to be a conservative and in so doing has confused so many people into hating and despising democrats?
May I define a true Conservative for you not to "lecture to you" but to remind you that as Democrats you are "True Conservatives" if these are your core values.
(1) You love America and her Patriots and shall not hesitate to defend her with your life if need be.
(2) You sincerely believe in your hearts and minds that a person who does not work SHALL NOT EAT. A person who CANNOT WORK shall eat as excellent as a person who works because we shall feed you.( Here we differ in reality from Republicans who will agree that a person who does not work shall not eat but Republicans are flaky when it comes to the part which says that ,"a person who CANNOT work shall eat as excellent as one who can work because we shall feed them."
Hence Republicans neglect the poor and needy and the downtrodden and defeated Americans.
(3) A true conservative respects the rights of the minority and the majority to believe in whatever religion they wish to believe in or to believe in none whatsoever.
(4) A True conservative believes in the Constitution of the United States and the rights which the Constitution of the United States guarantees to all Americans.
(5) A True conservative abhors any form of racial, religious, class,
gender and economic prejudice against any person and shall not stand for such.
(6) A true conservative believes in the Rule of Just laws and justice for all Americans.
Now can anyone show me a Democrat who do not believes in those principles ?
Can anyone convince me that these are not some of the true core conservative principles which all of our Democratic leaders sincerely believe in?
Please, let us stop allowing the demagogues like Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingram misleading Americans as to what are core conservative values?Posted by C.T., 05/03/2008 10:01pm (4 months ago)

Many memories, especially those of the 16 conventions and four inaugurations i've attended since 1952.
