Contact your local Campaign for Change between now and August 12 to request a Community Credential.
You’ll be asked for your basic Contact Number, how you plan to get to Denver, and where you plan to stay during the Convention.
The period to request Community Credentials is now closed.
Starting on August 12th, your local Campaign for Change office will notify you via email or text message if you have been selected to receive a community credential. You’ll find out when and where to pick up your credential, and you’ll need to verify your travel arrangements. If you are not selected to receive a community credential, you’ll remain on a waiting list in case more spaces become available.
You’ll need to present a valid photo ID when you pick up your credential at your local Campaign for Change distribution center. Once you’ve received a credential, you will need to activate it online. Credentials must be activated by August 27th.
When you arrive at INVESCO Field at Mile High on Thursday, August 28th, you will need your activated community credential to pass through a security checkpoint.

Please note: Community Credentials are valid on Thursday, August 28th. The above information does not apply to Convention delegates, alternate delegates, pages or guests credentialed for the Pepsi Center, as these individuals will be credentialed in the same way for INVESCO Field at Mile High.
The DNCC has booked and previously allocated a block of 17,000 hotel rooms out of the approximately 42,000 hotel rooms in the Denver metro area for delegates, media and members of the Democratic family, and many other outside organizations have already booked rooms on their own. Accordingly, available accommodations in Denver are extremely limited and substantial commutes may be required between available accommodations and INVESCO Field at Mile High.
A key resource for information about traveling to Denver is the Denver Metro Convention and Visitor's Bureau. To contact Visitor Information, call toll free 1-800-233-6837 or call 1-303-892-1505 (toll charges apply) or email VisitorInfo@denver.org.
Q: What is the deadline for applying for Community Credentials?
A: The deadline for applying is August 12. After that, people will start to be notified that they were selected to receive Community Credentials. Starting August 20, unused credentials will be cycled back through the system and offered to people signed up on the waiting list.
Q: Who will receive Community Credentials? Have individuals who would have otherwise been at the Pepsi Center already been assigned credentials for INVESCO Field at Mile High?
A: More than half of the seats at INVESCO Field at Mile High will go to Colorado residents. Nearly two-thirds of seats will go to residents of the Mountain West and Southwest regions – both areas of growth for the Democratic Party. Each state, the District of Columbia, Democrats Abroad, and the four territories will receive an allocation of Community Credentials. Colorado and states in the neighboring Mountain West region will receive a larger share of these credentials.
Delegates, alternate delegates, pages or guests credentialed for the Pepsi Center will also be seated for events at INVESCO Field at Mile High.
Q: What are you going to do about people who try to sell their tickets on eBay or Craigslist?
A: We will have a very strong tracking program for Community Credentials. Each credential will have a bar code and will need to be activated by the credential recipient in order to gain access. Any credentials that are advertised for sale online will be immediately deactivated. People seeking credentials are strongly advised to work with their Campaign for Change. Community Credentials obtained fraudulently will not be valid for admission at INVESCO Field at Mile High.
Q: Do I need to volunteer with the Obama For America campaign to receive a Community Credential?
A: As part of the application process, individuals applying for credentials will have the opportunity to request more information from the Colorado Campaign for Change regarding volunteering and outreach opportunities both before and after the Convention. While volunteering is not a prerequisite for recipients, Coloradans who volunteer with the Campaign for Change will have the opportunity to receive all-star seating for Barack Obama’s speech.
Q: How are you going to verify that applicants can travel to Denver and will have a place to stay?
A: Each Campaign For Change office will work with people who sign up for Community Credentials to discuss their plans regarding travel to Denver. These will be one-on-one conversations over the phone and in-person. Community credential recipients will be responsible for their own travel and lodging and will be advised that available accommodations in the Denver metro area are extremely limited. Substantial commutes may be required from available lodging to INVESCO Field at Mile High.
Q: What kind of security will people have to go through at INVESCO Field at Mile High?
A: Upon arrival at the stadium, all Community Credential recipients will be processed through a security checkpoint standard for this kind of National Special Security Event.
Q: Do I have to be a Democrat to receive a Community Credential?
A: No, you do not have to be a Democrat to receive a Community Credential. An important part of Barack Obama’s message is bringing America together across all the lines that have divided us in the past. We welcome Democrats, Independents and Republicans to sign up for Community Credentials because we are committed to bringing the country together for positive change. Remember the number of Community Credentials is limited, but all are welcome to apply.
